Area 151

Yeah, with the dog and the heat and all, I’ve spent the last week coping with the overwhelm—which in my world meant a weekend filled with Sudoku and the VH1 “World Series of Pop Culture”*, a week filled with long hours at work (big project due Monday), and no blogging at all because to blog would be to write about things which would require me to have to think about things.  Andf things aren’t all that bad, but I still don’t want to have to think about them quite yet.

But the weekly tradition of the Friday Random Ten doesn’t require me to think about all those other things in my life.  All it requires of me, and all it requires of anyone else wanting to join the fun, is this: put your mp3 player on shuffle and transcribe the first ten (eleven if you enjoy the bonus round) songs that play, without elisions or apologies.

Now, my recent model for these lists has been to add my musical comments and associations right off, with the best intentions of adding linkage down the line.  However, my life has been sufficiently out-of-control that I’ve never followed through on that good intention.  So here’s some long-overdue link-love, or at least some active link and some placeholders that by-ye-gods I WILL complete later today:
