Friday Random Ten the 21st: the “Elizabethan Collar edition”
Well, here’s the thing. Even if the antibiotics work for Her Pupness, we’re still in for a long few days. She does NOT like the e-collar, and she spent much of last night trying against all laws of physics to crawl under the bed to her usual sleeping nest. Her efforts only came to a halt when Matt laid himself down on the floor, blocking all under-the-bed access with his sleeping body. Shockingly enough, I missed the whole production: after tossing my cookies at 1 AM from emotional upset, I fell into a sleep-like-the-dead. Just as well: tonight I’ll take a turn on the downstairs couch in order to remove her from the area of temptation.

I know how hard it can be to see your pet in an e(vil)-collar. I was able to get a cloth e-collar from a vet (I had to call a lot of vets, they really should have them as an option) for my cat and she wasn’t happy about it, but it was a huge improvement over the plastic one. She was able to get into all her regular places, but not get at her wound…definitely worth finding one.
