Yes, I’ve been silent in the blogosphere. Big events will do that to one—-prep work kept me at the office till 9:30 Wednesday night, and the actual event itself kept me there last night till 12:45 this morning (if you follow that). So it’s a day I’m especially grateful for the tradition of the Friday Random Ten.* It’s a way to post without having to have much in the way of brain function. And the way I feel this afternoon, that’s a realy good thing….

FAVORITE SONG: Too many to choose just one. “When I Look in Your Eyes” and “My Cherie Amour” for tender thrills; “Hazy Shade,” “Let’s Hear It,” “Smooth,” and “Feel Good” for energy.

SO WHAT’S WITH THE SUPER SECRET TRACK ANYWAYS? I didn’t actually hear the Gorillaz today. However, when I scrolled back through Frankenpod’s playlist to type songs into here, there it was at #5. Ever the inquisitive mind, I tried to play from the end of #4 on to Gorillaz—it’s a fun song and I wanted to hear it–but ol’ Frankie skipped right on past it a second time. Grr.**

LEAST FAVORITE SONG: “Wave.” I’ve loaded a bunch of Ondine’s tracks onto the ‘Pod as I try to decide how much I do (or don’t) like her singing and her album. As her tracks come up in the last two FRTs, I’m not hating them, but I’m not especially enjoying them, either….

SOUNDTRACK SILLINESS: Yes, I own the soundtrack to Bossa Nova. No, I’ve never seen the film.

MOST EMBARRASSING: Klaatu. Sorry, Mark, I have a sick and twisted affection for these Canadian ponces.

* For the young’uns amongus, here’s the rules: Set your iPod (or other MP3 device) on shuffle and divulge the first ten tracks that spin, likely with the customary bonus track that makes me wonder why we haven’t just started calling this the “Friday Random Eleven.” No edits, omissions, or graceful dodges: let your musical taste (or the lack of same) be revealed in all its quirky glory.

** I know iTunes is ever in search of methods to prevent the playing of illegal downloads. But when the newest software update prevents me from playing singles I’ve purchased through that very same iTunes software, it does begin to piss me off.
