Yes, boys and girls, Sherri had a work event to attend yesterday evening. And when I dashed from my office to ride out to the event site, I left two key pieces of equipment in a desk drawer: my cell phone and my iPod. The iPod is undoubtedly more sorely missed, for my oversight means I will 1) have to pay attention to the rest of the world during my walk to work (the horror! the horror!); and 2) be posting my Friday Random Ten* much later in the day than is usual.

One upside is the chance to update the list, song by song, in real time.

A different sort of statistical anomaly: The Rutles are back again one week later, and it occurs to me that I have more Rutles tracks on Frankie than I have Beatles tracks! It’s not as if I don’t have all the Beatles CDs. I could easily rip all the songs I wanted, but I simply haven’t taken the time to do so.

Favorite song: I’m Gone. Or maybe Heaven and Hell.

Least favorite song: Pearl. I’ve got this whole album on Frankie ‘cos it’s out of print (as of my last check). If I had the plastic disk, I’d probably be much more discriminating about which tracks travelled with me.

Inappropriate and selfish mental leap: Hearing Sheryl Crow reminds me that I have been postponing my first mammogram for 18 months.
