Friday Random Ten, the second
Another TGIF, another TGFFRT*. You know the drill:
Set the iPod (or inferior MP3 device) on shuffle and reveal the first ten tracks that appear, without any editing or omissions. Let your musical taste (or the lack of same) be revealed in all its quirky glory.
Today’s contributions from Frankenpod:
- Michael Stanley Band; Heaven and Hell; North Coast
- James Taylor & Carly Simon; Mockingbird; For Our Children Too!
- Abba; On & On & On; More Gold
- Tori Amos; Girl; Little Earthquakes
- Neil Diamond; Memphis Streets; Play Me: The Complete Uni Studio Recordings
- Pennywise; Hotel California (single)
- Sting (f. Cheb Mami); Desert Rose; Brand New Day
- Moby (f. Gwen Stefani); South Side Remix (single)
- George S. Clinton; Laundry; The Music of Red Shoe Diaries
- George Michael; Too Funky; Ret Hot & Dance
- Tom Lehrer; Folk Song Army; That Was The Year That Was
- Kanye West (f. Adam Levine); Heard ‘Em Say; Late Registration
You got not one but two bonus tracks this morning, because by the time I’d gotten the computer booted up and the first ten typed in this morning, two more songs had played.
I’ll update later with some extra details about one or two of the songs, but for now, I must needs think about starting the workday.
UPDATE ONE. Linking to other FR10s: Autumn, Ben, Brian, Howard, and Marisa.
UPDATE TWO: I promised thoughtful thoughts about the selections today. Sorry, I’m too exhausted. Two events two nights in a row.
* Thank God/s/ess/lessness For the Friday Random Ten.

I think I need to come over to your house someday with my laptop and do a little music burning. I’ve always wanted Tom Lehrer on cd (my parents had him on vinal, but who knows what happened to those albums).

Hmm, you and I have George Michael and Tori Amos in common (technically, I have a single Abba mp3, but that doesn’t count). I’m afraid my “classic” tastes are limited to 60s and 70s prog, and maybe some Nick Drake.
