The (Reverse) Alphabetic CD Crawl: 2007 edition commences
Monday, January 1st, 2007Well, when all was said and done, I listened my way through 1359 CDs in 2006, from A to Tchaikovsky*, plus all the Christmas CDs I keep shelved past the end of the alphabet. By my count, 93 CDs went un-listened-to.
I figure I will need to average 4 CDs a day if I’m to hear the full collection in 2007–and that’s assuming I don’t ever buy any new music, and how likely is that?!?**
Seeing that required listening pace drives home the likelihood that my collection has outgrown the ability to be contained in a single calendar year. But, for ‘07, I’ll make one more try, moving backwards from Z to A–starting with my current typing soundtrack, Zukabar presents: Tribal Works.
We’ll see how far I get.
* Claudio Abbado and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Symphony No. 1 (”Winter Dreams”).
** Forecast: 0% odds.
