Monday, January 1st, 2007Why did Channel 10 on my Comcast Digital Cable do its “Live” Times Square New year’s Countdown at approximately 12:50 on January 1, 2007?
Seriously. Matt and I:
- Walked home from the ComedySportz New Year’s Eve show
- Took out the trash*
- Watched the end of Shall We Dance? on DVR**
- Boggled at the obscenity of the age differential between Meatloaf and his backup singer on ABC’s performance of “Paradise by the Dashboard Light”
…all before surfing over to see this weirdly time-warped coutdown with Carson Daly & company.
Though I gotta admit: I’m enjoying Panic! at the Disco’s start-of-2007 performance a lot more than I did Meatloaf’s.
* Yeah, we’re livin’ large.
** The American remake with Richard Gere and jennifer Lopez. Yes, I know the Masayuki Suo original is supposed to be far superior, but I found this version to be sweet and enjoyable.
